Kao has introduced its innovative Newtlac technology to Europe, marking a significant step in sustainable road construction. Newtlac, a patented pavement modifier made from recycled PET, integrates plastic waste into asphalt mixtures, improving both workability and pavement durability. In a recent trial at Kao’s Olesa plant, 30 tons of D12 asphalt were produced using Newtlac, resulting in excellent performance and application. Already proven in Asia and the U.S., this European debut highlights Newtlac’s potential to support environmental sustainability and the circular economy.
